Miralem Pjanic has been linked with a move to the Premier League ever since his days as a youngster with FC Metz.
Since, the attacking midfielder has enjoyed spells at Lyon, where he helped the french side reach the Champions League finals, in addition to current club Roma, who could be forced to sell Pjanic this summer as their financial crisis hits rock bottom.
The 23 year old is best described as an old-fashioned playmaker, by no means a prolific goalscorer but a pass master who provides ample opportunities for his team-mates, with seven goals and 17 assists from 60 appearances for Roma.
Pjanic, a Bosnian international, comes with great technique on the ball and attacking flair, last term averaging 2.2 shots, 2.1 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per game.
The Roma starlet is reluctant to leave the Serie A side, but may have little choice as they try to shift anyone at the club who can command a healthy transfer fee.
According to the tabloids, Pjanic could cost the Reds around £20million, but they will have to stave off interest from Spurs and Arsenal.
