Asked whether Keita or Jones could be doubtful for next weekend's Premier League opener with Fulham, the manager added: "Naby is ill, so no. Curtis, we have to see. [There] was no impact or whatever, so that always makes it a bit, 'My god, what could it be?'

"We had no time; he felt it today and he wanted to play desperately, but then the medical department said no and that we needed to make further tests. We will do that tomorrow and then we will know more."

On the pre-season and his excitement to start the season at Fulham...

Of course. When you have a pre-season, I'm now long enough in the business that I think I can get a sense of where we are and how good we could be. But yesterday the game was a really good sign because we looked really ready, we looked really sharp and that's important. Now we have a full week, and in the end I think we have two full weeks probably for the next two games to prepare. You have to use that as kind of a pre-season, that's why we played today and now we have to see that we prepare well for Fulham because it's a different game obviously. But the boys look good and so I'm happy with where we are. A little bit lesser injuries would be nice – we were a bit unlucky very early, before we really started training, to be honest, and that doesn't help. But the boys will come back rather sooner than later and then we have a fuller squad. But in the moment, the boys who are available look really good and sharp.

I was reminded of the first time I felt that Jürgen really respected me. It was when he came with a letter to my desk, about six years ago – probably two months after he’d arrived.

He asked me to read it because he didn’t understand it, so I started reading and I told him it was from a coach who said he wanted to work with him, to help him on the pitch and assist. “So basically he wants your job?” the boss said. “Basically, yes.” He took the letter, tore it apart, threw it in the bin in front of me and turned around and walked away without saying anything.

Super izgleda ovaj isjecak mada bih volio da su i on kao i Henderson koji je sad najavio knjigu ipak sacekali da se zavrsi ova Klopp era pa da onda pisu te knjige al ajd..
