The truth is that they discussed lots of players during lunch, because Laporta's plan was to be brought up to speed on current events within the football market. Amongst them, the names of CR7 and Mou were put on the table, although the lawyer only asked the agent about them to be polite, asking how Mourinho was doing at Chelsea, whether he was happy, and not under the premise of signing him for Barça.
It would be another thing for Laporta to weigh up trying to sign the coach once informed of his situation, his buy-out clause and his salary. In any case, that would be a plan for the future, although the mere possibility of it happening brought floods of reactions from fans. In a MARCA.com poll asking whether Barça supporters would accept Mourinho back at the club, 53% of respondents said they would have no problem if he returned, whilst 47% were not so sure.
