KSBIH decided that beginning from 2012 all teams in Liga 13 will have to guarantee young bosnian players 40 minutes per game.
It seems like a huge step ahead for young bosnian talents but after a second glance it is a concession to 'croatian' respectively 'serb' teams. Both Siroki and Igokea have only two
bosnian players in their rows who are mostly coming from the bench. Most of the season they play the NLB league and will not be affected very much by these changes. It might happen to bosnian talents that they will get their playtime in the domestic league but won t get a shot in the NLB league.
Main problem remains the status of croatian and serbian players who are treated like domestic players which is unique in Europe. It might also explain that Serbia and Croatia agreed to
accept the renaturalisation of former NT players who couldn t permanently get a spot on their rosters. Thus they secured the continuity of a regulation which largely harms bosnian basketball.
