PSG threatens Real Madrid

The PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, assured that he wants the terms of the contract between his club and its coach Carlo Ancelotti to be respected. "Whatever it costs us, we'll respect the contract", Al-Khelaïfi told the 'BeIN Sport' TV channel, which he is the director of, also specifying that "there will be no tug-of-war" in this case.

"We've spoken and Ancelotti has asked to go to Real Madrid", said Al-Khelaïfi, who also added that he had been "very clear with the coach". "I told him that he has a contract for one more year, so he can't just leave. The problem is with him not with us. It's normal to expect a contract to be respected", said the president.

"In March there was a proposal to extend his contract, but since then Real Madrid has come knocking", the PSG president revealed, also adding: "I think that he has a pre-contract with Real Madrid. I don't think that Real would dare to sign a contract with Carlo. If they do then this would cause a legal dispute".

The coach had a meeting on Sunday with Al-Khelaïfi and the club's sporting director, former Brazil international Leonardo, who also confirmed that the Italian "wants to leave" and that his club of choice is Real Madrid.

According to French TV channel 'BFM TV', Ancelotti refused to continue discussing an extension to his contract after Leonardo had turned down his request to have greater influence within the club, particularly with regards to signing players.
