Hajde, makan nesto lijepo..Juventus loanees roundup: Rovella and Cambiaso impress again
Every Monday, JuventusNews24 provides a roundup for the club’s loaned-out stars. On Sunday, the Bianconeri supporters were able to witness two of their youngsters up close and personal as Monza made the trip to Turin.
Once again, Nicolò Rovella produced a masterclass performance in the middle of the park against his parent club, playing an instrumental role in the Biancorossi’s 2-0 victory at the Allianz Stadium. On the other hand, Filippo Ranocchia only featured as a substitute.
For his part, Andrea Cambiaso was another young Juventus loanee who impressed in Serie A this weekend. The left-back was one of the best performers on the pitch in Bologna’s 2-0 win over Spezia.
In Tuscany, Koni De Winter started at the back for Empoli who registered a 2-2 draw against Torino. Marko Pjaca was an unused substitute.
Hans Nicolussi Caviglia earned a yellow card in his second half cameo for Salernitana who emerged victorious in Lecce. This was the midfielder’s fourth appearance for the Granata following his January transfer.
On English shores, Dejan Kulusevski provided an assist in Tottenham’s 3-0 victory over Preston North End in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Finally, Luca Pellegrini missed Eintracht Frankfurt’s big clash against Bayern Munich. His future at the club remains uncertain.
Juventus win race for talented winger Di Biase
Juventus have beaten out rivals Torino for talented teenager Gianmarco Di Biase, picking up the winger from Serie D side Pistoiese.
The 17-year-old Italian quickly attracted the attention of a number of clubs in Italy after his explosive start to life in the Italian fourth tier, scoring eight goals and providing two assists in his first 21 league outings. Scouts were quick to highlight the teenager and Juventus were keen to beat their competition to the punch.
As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Juventus have won the race for Di Biase and will pay €350,000 to sign the 17-year-old winger. A key reason why they secured his signature was their Next Gen squad, giving him a clear step forward in his career.
Di Biase is expected to remain with Pistoiese for the rest of the season, with the Serie D side asking to retain the player on loan until the summer. The teenager will be the first signing of the new Francesco Calvo and Giovanni Manna era at Juventus.
PratimBarcelona and Valencia are facing serious charges after a former Vice-President of Los Che has accused the the pair of false accounting, the same charge which led to Juventus being docked 15 points in Serie A.
The matter relates to two deals between the clubs in 2019, when Neto Murara moved from Valencia to Barcelona for €26m plus €9m in variables, while Japsper Cillessen left Barcelona for Valencia for a fee of €35m, as per MD.
Miguel Zorio has made an official complaint to the anti-corruption department, accusing owner Peter Lim, former Presidents Amadeo Salvo, Anil Murthy and current President Layhoon Chan of false accounting, misappropriation, disloyal administration and corruption between individuals.
Barcelona are also mentioned as benefitting from the same process, and presumably they would incur the same punishments for their role in the matter, which was committed under former President Josep Maria Bartomeu. Agent Jorge Mendes and investment funds Benfica Stars Fund and Quality Sports Investment are also implicated.
These charges are the same as those that caused Juventus‘ entire board to resign and the club to be docked 15 points. What the case may hinge on is whether the intention can be proved, as evidence of intention was found during the Juventus case.
Zorio says that the reason for the deal was so that Lim did not have to face €30m of losses for the financial year. He also claims La Liga turned a blind eye to the entire sham.
It should be noted that Zorio has a vested interest in the accusation. He wants to force Lim out of Valencia and has proposal to buy shares of Valencia open, which he would do so with a loan.
Sa nama nisu, ali sa drugima..Giovanni Carnevali is calm about Sassuolo’s involvement in capital gains with Juventus
The CEO of Sassuolo, Giovanni Carnevali, is not worried about the rumours that his club could be implicated in the capital gains case that Juventus has been punished for recently.
The Bianconeri have lost 15 points and one of the clubs they have done a lot of business with in recent seasons is Sassuolo.
The Bianconeri signed Manuel Locatelli from the black and greens and have done some other business with them in the last decade.
Some fans and pundits believe if Juventus’ partners are punished, one of them will be Sassuolo.
But Carnevali doesn’t think so, he said via Calciomercato:
“Possible implications for Sassuolo? We are very calm, indeed I feel like smiling reading some articles, they only confuse people’s ideas. Just think of the negotiation with Juventus lasting more than two months to sell Locatelli without having purchased any other player. Capital gains must be made as they are made by us, I believe there is no doubt about the transparency of society and the work that Sassuolo has done”.
The FIGC Court of Appeals has released the reasons why Juventus were handed a 15-point penalty in the capital gains case.
The Bianconeri were handed the point deduction, as well as bans to various current and former directors, for allegedly inflating player transfer values to falsify their capital gains.
Juventus were previously acquitted in the sporting case but the FIGC prosecutor requested a second trial after new documents were revealed from the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office investigation.
ANSA reveals the reasons why the FIGC Court of Appeals gave Juventus a 15-point deduction, claiming the club “have committed a sporting disciplinary offence, taking into account the seriousness and the repeated and prolonged nature of the violation.”
The Old Lady’s culpability was ascertained by the court thanks to “the documentation from the club’s directors, with confessional value and from the relative manuscripts, the unequivocal interceptions and the further evidence relating to the concealment of documentation or even manipulation of invoices.”
Now that the reasoning has been revealed, Juventus are able to appeal the decision to CONI’s Collegio di Garanzia.
The Bianconeri are still at risk of receiving punishment from the Prisma investigation headed by Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office, which is exploring both the capital gains issue and the alleged secret salary agreements with players.
The FIGC also stated that:
“As far as the sanction is concerned, the Court has taken into account the particular gravity and the repeated and prolonged nature of the violation and the intensity and diffusion of awareness of the situation in the conversations between the managers of FC Juventus S.p.A.
“In the face of a picture of the facts radically different due to the impressive amount of documents received from the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office that highlighted the intentionality underlying the alteration of the transfer operations and the relative values.”
