Bulls' Boozer questionable for Mavericks game
Carlos Boozer skipped the Bulls' morning shootaround because of his sprained left ankle, but coach Tom Thibodeau said the power forward would test the injury before Thursday's game against the Mavericks to see if he can play.
Thibodeau called Boozer "questionable." Boozer has missed two straight games with the injury.
"He's getting close," Thibodeau said. "He'll try a couple things down (at United Center). I want to make sure he's 100 percent. I don't want this to linger. We can't be shortsighted. Each day it's been better, but it's not quite there."
Boozer, who wore a sweat suit and walked without a limp, said he would undergo another treatment Thursday afternoon.
"I'm feeling better," he said.
It's unlikely Boozer would return to guard Mavericks All-Star Dirk Nowitzki, particularly after missing the shootaround and with Taj Gibson as a strong defensive alternative.
"Carlos' defense is probably underrated," Thibodeau said. "I think he's getting better. But Taj is as good as it gets in the league in terms of his ability to guard multiple positions."
