Llorente met with Juan Mata's agent on Friday

Valencia President Manuel Llorente met with Juan Mata's agent today, who is also his father, and also named Juan Mata.

Llorente spoke to the media after the meeting. "The meeting was cordial," he said.

"We did not discuss any offer [from Barcelona]."

Llorente cited Valencia's financial situation as the reason that Mata has not received an imporved contract.

"He knows that what is most important now for the club is to increase capital and when we have stability then that will be the time to study all these things," Llorente continued.

"Mata will be the first [to have a better contract offered to him]. We know that he is a great player who is young and needs protecting and should stay with Valencia.

"We are all conscious of how important he is to us."

nista znacajno se ne desava u ekipi, osim sto povezuju Evera Banegu sa Evertonom... ne bi to valjalo, jedino je dobro sto mu se slaze ime sa imenom kluba: ever-everton...hehehe... sutra je prva utakmica pretkola evropske lige (ili kako se vec zove) u gostima protiv stabaeka... mislim da ce ici na pobjedu u prvoj utakmici da bi mogli opusteni docekat revans, zato sto samo dva dana poslije revansa pocinje primera, a u prvom kolu docekujemo sevillu...

Valencia u Norveškoj bez sponzora na dresovima
Nogometaši španske Valencije morat će odigrati prvu utakmicu 4. pretkola Europa lige na gostovanju kod norveškog Stabaeka u dresovima bez logotipa njihovog sponzora Unibeta.

Norveška vlada obratila se tamošnjem nacionalnom nogometnom savezu sa zahtjevom da se momčadi Valencije ne dopusti nastup u njihovim službenim dresovima s logom sponzora Unibeta, jednog od najvećih operatera za online klađenje u Europi, budući da je u Norveškoj zabranjeno online klađenje.

I Valencija i Unibet, koji inače sponzorira mnoge klubove u nekoliko različitih zemlja, obratili su se Europskoj nogometnoh organizaciji (UEFA) koja je, čini se,vratila taj slučaj klubovima da ga sami riješe.

Valencijini logističari već su poslali u Norvešku garnituru dresova bez sponzorskih obilježja u kojima će, po svemu sudeći, španski prvoligaš istrčati protiv Stabaeka.

Spekulise se da Everton zeli Evera Banegu, i takodje da Barcelona jos uvijek nije odustala od dovodjenja Juana Mate... sto se Banege tice, momak je bio najbolji na pripremama, i to daleko najbolji, i po meni ne bi ga trebali niposto prodati jer momak stvarno zasluzuje mjesto u prvom timu, zajedno sa Fernandesom... a sto se tice Barce, ako ce Matu dovest kao sto su doveli Villum onda se ne brinem nimalo... AMUNT VALENCIA!!!

Ever Banega: "I know nothing about Everton. The only news that I have is that I am staying at Valencia"

Over the last few days, Everton Manager David Moyes has made multiple statements about acquiring Valencia midfielder Evar Banega on loan for this season, with an option to purchase the player. He has even secured a work permit for the Argentine international.

There is only one problem though. Valencia CF, and Ever Banega himself, have not just denied that negotiations are happening, but they also deny that any contact has been made.

Valencia communication director Damia Vidagany insisted: "No negotiations with Everton exist or any other club for the loan of Ever Banega. This news is not true."

After training yesterday, a Super Deporte writer asked Banega about the situation, and he said, "I know nothing about Everton. The only news that I have is that I am staying at Valencia".

Fernando Gomez also added, "Except for Angulo and Nacho Gonzalez, we will only sell players".

Javier Gomez and Marcelo Simonian (Banega's agent) talked on the phone earlier in the week, and the topic of Everton was never brought up. And reportedly, Javier told Simonian that Banega would only be sold if a massive offer was made. That is not news though, because that is the policy for all of Valencia's players.

Many English language websites, like Sky Sports and Goal.com, have been reporting that Banega has said, "For me the only news is that I will LEAVE Valencia this season".

This is a mistranslation. Banega said (in Spanish), "La única noticia que tengo es que me QUEDO en el Valencia". Quedo means "I stay" or "I remain".

Valencia going after Jonathan de Guzman?

Reports out of Holland are suggesting that Feyenoord midfielder Jonathan de Guzman, brother of former Deportivo la Coruna and current Espanyol midfielder Julian de Guzman, could be on the way to Valencia this week.

De Guzman's agent, Jan de Visser, will talk to Valencia on Tuesday about a possible transfer, according to Voetbal International.

There are rumors of Ever Banega moving to England swirling, Manuel Fernandes has suffered yet another injury set back (next story), and Ruben Baraja is injured as well.

"If I leave Feyenoord, then I want to go to a club that suits me", said de Guzman after Sunday's match against Roda JC, where he scored two goals.

Manchester City offered €14 million for the midfielder last season, but Feyenoord refused the deal.

De Guzman is said to be unhappy in Holland and looking for a move abroad, preferrably Spain.

Jonathan was born in Canada, but moved to Rotterdam at the age of 12 to play in Feyenoord's youth academy. He has chosen to play for the Dutch National Team, but the 21 year old has yet to make an appearance in the senior team.
